Francis Adams was the youngest son of Thomas Adams and Elizabeth Hartshorn. He was baptised on September 11, 1842 at Marston upon Dove.
Francis' mother passed away in 1843 the year following his birth. His sister Ann also died in 1843.

At age 18, he was working as an Agricultural Labourer and the only child still living at home with his father at the family home on High Street in Hilton. His name on the 1861 census is transcribed as Franck.
By 1881, Francis, now known as Frank, has moved to 34 Burtons Road. He is unmarried and still working as a Labourer. Frank next lived in Eggington Village and at 53 was still single.
Frank became a Cow Keeper and was working at The Forties, Smisby, Ashby de la Zouch, Derbyshire, 1895-1899. He next moved to The Elms, Hartshorne, Burton-on-Trent and was resident in 1912.
Frank Adams never married. No further records were sourced for him after 1912.
He was the last surviving child of Thomas Adams and Elizabeth Hartshorn.
