The family lived in Henniker, New Hampshire when he was born and moved to New Chester, Grafton, New Hampshire by the time Israel was 8 years old if this is indeed the census of this family, which may not be a fact because the 1830 census shows them in Henniker, Hillsborough, New Hampshire when he is 17.

Death and Burial

Israel died in 1870 (I find no documentation or even hint of this yet other than an absence of an 1870 census for him.Scott-8685 03:09, 20 February 2014 (EST))

Research Notes

  1. Daughter Louis listed on the 1860 US Census is likely the same Unnamed female listed on the 1855 New York State Census, a Border. Possibly the child was taken in by Israel and spouse and raised as their own daughter. If this was the case, then it is also likely that the Albert listed on the 1860 US Census is also a foundling/orphan and not a blood descendant of Israel and Lois.
  2. Israel is listed on the 1880 US Census, along with same spouse, Elmira, as was listed on the 1865 New York State census, so he did not die in 1870. He is also found on 1870 US Census in Carrollton, Cattaraugus, New York.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Israel by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Israel:
