Biography

Birth and Early Life

Sarah Adams was born on 15 May 1832 in Deerfield, Oneida, New York, United States. Sarah was the fourth of four children born to Israel Adams (1802-1870) and his first wife, Sally Cross (1806-1832). Her father married again on 8 April 1833 in Deerfield, Oneida, New York to Lois Lillie (1791-1880).

Marriage and Family

Sarah married Alonzo George Bosworth (1823-1908) in February, 1861. [1] They lived in Carrollton, Cattaraugus, New York in 1870 through 1880.[2] Sometime before 1900 they moved to Limestone Village, Cattaraugus, New York and Sarah said on the 1900 census that she gave birth to seven and six children are living.Scott-8685 23:13, 29 March 2014 (EDT)Inez does not belongs to her. She is not on any census with the other children. and the numbers would not be correct for children born to her if Inez were hers. All of the other children are accounted for on sources.

  3. Clara Genevra Bosworth was born in August 1865 in New York, USA. Clara married Clarence L. McKenzie in 1892. Clara died on 14 July 1946 in Sterling, Worcester, Massachusetts, USA.
  4. Archibald Bosworth was born on 27 December 1869 in Limestone, Cattaraugus, New York, USA. He married Grace E. McKelley (b. 1874-d. after 1942) about 1900. Archie died on 29 November 1943 in Dayton, Montgomery, Ohio, USA.
  5. Thersa Bosworth was born on 5 May 1871 in Cattaraugus County, New York, USA. Thersa died on 24 September 1898 in Limestone, Cattaraugus, New York, USA.
  6. Edith May Bosworth was born on 5 June 1874 in Cattaraugus County, New York, USA. She married John Heyl Vincent Jones (1885-1923) in 1902. Edith died on 24 March 1917 in Warren County, Pennsylvania, USA.
  7. Orlette Bosworth was born in May 1878 in Cattaraugus County, New York, USA. She married Charles Covert ( 1868-?) in 1897.

Her husband died between March 1904 and 1908.

Death and Burial

She died on 27 January 1914 at the age of 81 at 417 North 9th Street in Olean, Cattaraugus, New York, United States. She was buried in the Limestone Cemetery, Limestone, Cattaraugus, New York. On 4 February 1914 the newspaper article for Sarah's funeral: Many friends and relatives attended the funeral of Mrs. Sarah Bosworth held at the residence of C. L. McKinzie Friday Afternoon. She leaves in immediate family five daughters and two sons to mourn their loss. Deceased was 82 years old and had spent a great portion of her life in the vicinity. Find A Grave: Memorial #42474058
