Samuel Adams was born about 1716 in Connor, County Antrim, Ireland. He is sometimes referred to as Samuel D Adams, but there is no evidence for the middle initial. He emigrated to America with his parents who settled in Bedminster, Somerset County, New Jersey. Samuel married Catherine Ross and they had eight known children. He and his family migrated to southwest Pennsylvania when that area was opened for settlement in 1768. Their lands eventually became part of Westmoreland County and then Fayette County, Pennsylvania. He died there about 1802. [1].
An alternative source says Samuel was born about 1717 and passed away about 1791.
