Biography

Lillie Ann Adams was born in 1882 to W. W. "Bud" Adams and his first wife whose name is still under research. Her mother dropped dead while nursing little sister Lee. It is presumed she died of a blood clot. Her father remarried to Mollie Hill and she raised the four girls..^[1]

She married Jesse M. Martin on 3 May 1903 in Johnson Co., Texas.^[2]

Together they became the parents of Thelma Jesse (Martin) Cash, Garland Martin, J. L. Martin, and Lillie Gayle (Martin) Watson.

Jesse died in a plumbing accident in 1929 and Lillie supported her family alone. In 1940, she was a Librarian for the WPA.^[3]

Lillie passed away on 5 December 1959 in Ft. Worth, Tarrant Co., Texas^[4] and was buried at Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas. ^[5]
