Robert Adams appears on a subsidy list in Barton St. David, Somerset, England in 1543.[1] Nothing further is known about him. It has been suggested that he was the father or brother of John Adams of Barton St. David, ancestor of the Adams family that produced two U.S. presidents. There is no evidence to support this suggestion, because nothing is known about Robert Adams aside from his appearance in the 1543 tax list.
