Delatus was born about 1834. He passed away in 1919. (Delatus is his correct given name and is the name shown in all records, unless the initials DK (his preference) were used)-
In the 1900 Federal Census, DK Adams was living in Elma New York with his wife and three children. Also included in the census data were three servants:

Phillip Stewart, M, 29, Ohio
Louis I Welton, M, 24, New York [6]
In the 1910 Federal Census, DK Adams was living in Elma, Erie County, New York.[7]
DK died in 1919 in New York, but had been living in Denver, Colorado, Delatus's estate passed probate on 23 January 1919.[8][9]
