John was born in 1796.[1] He is the son of John Adams and Mary Buller.[2] Age of 51 given in shipping record of 1849 when travelling to South Australia. John Adams married Ann Teague in 1825.[3] They travelled to South Australia, with their 8 children, on the 'Eliza' in 1849.[4][5] He passed away in 1872, and was buried in Walkerville Wesleyan Cemetery.[6][7]
The 1841 census (taken 6 June) has John Adams (age 40-44) living at Scorier Gate, Gwennap, Cornwall; with Ann (40-44), Mary (13), Eliza (12), Sophia (11), Jane (10), Cathorine (8), Caroline (3) and Emma (1).[8]
