James and Susan Adams were parents to 9 children, 8 of whom are listed on the 1860 Census.[1] They were living in Chambers Co., AL where Robert, George, Sarah, and Annie were born. The older children were born in Georgia: William, Thomas, Martha, and Julius.
He died, at the age of 75, on July 30, 1929 in Beulah, Alabama. He is buried at the Beulah Cemetery, Beulah, Lee County, Alabama.[6]
