John Adams was born circa 1752, and was living in Virginia, at the time of the American Revolutionary War. John enlisted as a Private in the company of Captain George Thompson and served under the commands of Colonel George Gibson and Colonel Teebukir, during the War. [1]

John is honored for his military service by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution as DAR Ancestor #A208560. DAR records indicate that he died circa January 1, 1819, in Clark county, Kentucky, and that his wife's name was Elizabeth Bledsoe. Applications for membership in the Society have been made by the descendants of their daughter, Frances Adams, who married Leonard Ryan. Applications for DAR membership for this family are also made under the DAR number for Elizabeth's father, John Bledsoe, DAR Ancestor #A208561. [2] [3]

In November, 1798, in Woodford county, Kentucky, John Adams married Elizabeth Bledsoe, a daughter of John Bledsoe, born 1742, in Orange county, Virginia. [4]
