In 1930, a widowed Rene, 75, was living in Carroll, TN in the household of her son in law, Connie Tines, 46, and daughter, Ruth, 37. Also in the household were his son, Kealon, 18, and her daughter Ruby Barger, 15. Ruth's age at first marriage was 18, Connie's isn't listed. Connie was a general farmer.[9]
