Henry Adams was born on 22nd November 1893 at Hawker, South Australia, Australia. His parents were John Thomas Adams and Elizabeth Cheney. ^{[1] [2]}

Henry Adams married Zenobia Elizabeth Thurston on 25th April 1917 at Church of Christ, Lochiel, South Australia, Australia. ^[3] Their marriage was announced in "The Advertiser" on Thursday 7th June 1917.

• "Adams Thurston. On the 25th April, at Church of Christ, Lochiel, by Rev. F. Williams, Henry Adams, son of Mrs. and late Mr. Adams, Clare, to Zenobia Elizabeth Thurston, daughter of Mrs. and late Charles Thurston, Lochiel." ^[4]
