Eli was born on 17 November 1902 in Wayne County, West Virginia. He was the son of Samuel Adams and Isabelle (Robertson) Adams.[1]
When Eli was 18 he married Tina Marshall on 2 February 1921 in Genoa, Wayne County, West Virginia. The couple had 12 children: John William Adams, Sherman Mose Adams, Mable Grace Adams, Blanche Adams, Eli Adams, Maxine Adams, James Douglas Adams, Lawrence Adams, Wilma Lee Adams, Leo Harold Adams, Robert Adams and Eltis Adams.[2]
On 28 April 1930 Eli (age 27) was employed in Mechanic.[3]
Eli died at the age of 73 on 27 May 1976 in Genoa, Wayne County, West Virginia.[4][5]
