Lt. Samuel Adams was born on 11 June 1728, in Canterbury, Windham, Connecticut, his father, David Adams, was 35 and his mother, Katharine Adams, was 33. He married Phebe Pellett on 3 November 1763, in Scotland, Windham, Connecticut, They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 3 daughters. He registered for military service in 1777. He died on 25 January 1798, in his hometown, at the age of 69, and was buried in Canterbury, Windham, Connecticut.
