Biography

ADAMSON, Weldon Murdock

84, 13 Weir Ave., Stellarton, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2004, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Stellarton, he was a son of the late John and Ollie (MacLeod) Adamson. Weldon was a lifelong resident of Stellarton. He was a member of the Sharon St. John United Church, a member of Fuller Lodge No. 5 IOOF, Stellarton and Keith Masonic Lodge No. 23 AF&AM, Stellarton, where he had received his fifty year jewel in 2003. He was also a member of the Pictou County Ostomy Association. He worked for the CNR for 38 years, having retired in 1980. Weldon was an avid sports fan, especially baseball and hockey. He is survived by his wife, the former Cecilia Saunders; sons, John (Sherry), New Glasgow; Douglas (Heather), Halifax; daughter, Vesta (Kevin) Mason, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Marc and Luke Adamson, Adam, Andrew and Emily Mason; brothers, Forrest (Ann), Westville; Gerald (Anne), Stellarton; Justin (Vona), Stellarton; Curtis (Judy), Charlottetown. He was predeceased by a sister, Vesta in infancy. His remains will rest in H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton for visitation from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, October 5. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 6, at 2 p.m. in Sharon St. John United Church, Rev. John Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery. Donations in memory of Weldon may be made to the Pictou County Ostomy Association or Sharon St. John United Church Organ Fund.
