Biography

Sarah Lucindy Aday was born in Surcey County, Arkansas, September 24, 1847. She was the daughter of Mr.and Mrs. W. R Aday. She had six brothers and four sisters:

In 1871 she was married to L. M. Jordan, and became a mother to 7 children which she loved dearly, the children as follows:

  1. Martha
  2. Mary
  3. Sarah
  4. Susan
  5. George
  6. Harvey
  7. Henery

She was also blessed with five children of her own (two died in infancy)

OBITUARY: Pioneer South Collin Woman dies near Parker. December 2, 1935 Mrs Sarah Lucindy Aday Jordan age 88 years 2 months and 8 days died at her home in the Parker Community, Monday December 2, 1935 after an illness of about 10 months.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Forest Grove Christian Church at 3:00 PM. Services were conducted by Rev. A. H. Snider and Rev. Milton Greer. Interment was in the Fitzhugh Cemetary. With Perry Funeral home of Farmersville in charge.
She was a native of Arkansas. Sarah Lucindy Aday was born in Surcey County, Arkansas, September 24, 1847. She was the daughter of Mr.and Mrs. W. R Aday. She had six brothers and four sisters who have been deceased for several years at the age of eighteen she dedicated her life to the lord and had been a member of the baptist church for 70 years. In 1871 she was married to L. M. Jordan, and became a mother to 7 children which she loved dearly, the children as follows: Martha, Mary, Sarah, Susan, George, Harvey and Henery, they have also precided her to the grave. She was also blessed with five children of her own. Two died in infancey. Her Husband died in 1881. She had been a widow for 50 years. In 1897 Mrs Jordan came to Texas and settled near Garland, Texas and has resided in Texas the remainder of her life except for a short visit back to Arkansas.
Flower girls were her grand daughters (they included the Rouse's children as granddaughters which were not decendants of the Jordans) Mrs. C. R. Rouse, Mesguite, Mrs. Allen Rouse, Mckinney, Mrs C. C. Rouse Mckinney, Mrs.J. F Jordan and one great granddaughter Miss Lillian Jordan both of Renner, Texas. Pallbearers were her grandsons. Orville Humpres, Vell Stanley and Wesley Self of Mckinngey. A. H. Rouse and one great grand son Edd Rouse both of Mesquite. Mrs Jordan is survied by one daughter. Mrs. W. P. Rouse of Mckinney, with whom she had made her home for the past 30 years. Two sons James A. Jordan and William Jordan both of Mckinney. She had 13 grand children as follows Allen Rouse, Mckiney, Minne Anne and Hattie Rouse of Mckinney, Lewis Purno Jordan and Nellie Mae Wooten both of Dallas. Lula Joyce Self of McKinney. Elvadies of Mesquite, Jake Jordan where abouts unknown. Mrs. Orville Humpres, Mrs. Vell Standley, Mrs. Felder Julian, Lenord Jordan of Mckinney and Mrs. John Stanley of Frisco. Twenty 26 Great Grand Children, Wylie and Jimmy (these boys were not Jordans they were Rouses) Ola Marie Rouse, Edd Rouse, Albert Rouse and Rita Rouse of Mesquite. Katheryn and Louise Rouse of Mckinney. Glenn Roy Rouse of (can't make out the town paper was folded and torn) Lillian and Jacob Franklin Jordan of Renner, Texas Collin County. Lewis and Jack Jordan. Dorothy, Katheryn, Harold and Ruby Wooten of Dallas (my brother Billy Ray was not born until 1940). Frances and Melba Joyce Self of McKinney. J. W. Jordan, La Deana and Doris Humpres of Mckinney. [1]
