Biography

Ona Jewel Aday was born on 24 Mar 1895 in Ellis County, Texas. ^[1]

In 1900, at the age of 5, she was living in Justice Precinct 1 (middle part), Ellis, Texas, with her parents, four siblings, an uncle Edger Aday. and an aunt Nancy Woodard. ^[2]

In 1910, she was living in Justice Precinct 1, Ellis, Texas with her father and six siblings. ^[3]

She married Andy Lee Tole on 31 December 1916 in Ellis County, Texas. ^[4]

In 1920, she was living in Waxahachie, Ellis, Texas with her husband, Andy, and one son, Lindon (Age 1). ^[5] In 1930, she lived in Precinct 1, Ellis, Texas with her husband and three children: Lindon (Son, Age 11), Horace (Son Age 7), and James (Son Age 1). ^[6]

In 1935 she was living in Justice Precinct 1, Ellis, Texas, with her husband. ^[7]

In 1940, she lived in Justice Precinct 1, Ellis, Texas, with her husband and three children: Horace (Son Age 17). James Edward (Son Age 11), and Virginia Lee(Daughter Age 6). ^[7]

Ona passed away on 7 May 1974 in Waxahachie, Ellis, Texas. The cause of death was Congestive heart failure. She was a widow at the time of her death. ^[1] He is buried in Waxahachie City Cemetery, Waxahachie, Ellis, Texas.

Research Notes

The 1900 census gives her sex as male. In 1910 through 1940 census she is recorded as a female.
