Anthony was the 2nd son of Launcelot Addison and Jane Milner. Anthony followed his father into a career in the church. He served as Rector of Abingdon in Berkshire where he died in 1719 and for some time was Chaplain to John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough.
