William Atkins was baptised at St Mary the Virgin, Cropredy, Oxfordshire on 6th August 1837.[1] He was the son of Joseph and Ann and his father stated on the register that he was a labourer.
William Adkins and Sarah Amos were married after banns at St Mary the Virgin, Cropredy, Oxfordshire on 8th December 1861.[5] They were bachelor and spinster and both of the parish. Williams was 24 and the son of Joseph Adkins. Sarah was 21 and the daughter of Obed Amos. William, Joseph and Obed were all labourers. They both signed their own names on the register (William spelling his surname as Atkins) and the witnesses to the marriage were Thomas Amos and Anne Edwards.[6]
William Atkins died at the age of 63 in Great Bourton, Oxfordshire.[9] He was buried at All Saints, Great Bourton, on 18th August 1901.[10]
