Research Notes

This William V. Adkins, Jr., was not likely married to Elizabeth Betty (Unknown) Adkins since she was born four years after his death. She may have been married to another descendant with the same name. At this point, I'm not sure who to connect her to, so I'm leaving her as she is for now. Miller-33353 19:09, 12 June 2019 (UTC)
Middle name - Vincent or Vortimer or nothing?
  • Middle names were all but non-existent in 17th and early 18th-century Virginia.[10] [11] Since no primary source document can be found that even hints at a middle name or middle initial for William Adkins, we can assume with 99.9% confidence that he did NOT have a middle name.
  • Find A Grave: Memorial #152329210 has middle name but no sourcing.
