Hezekiah A Adkins about 1834 in Cabell, Virginia, his father, Hezekiah A Adkins Jr, and their mother, Sarah M Childers. He married Rachel Rachel Morrison. He died as POW in Camp Chase, Columbus, Franklin, Ohio as a young father on March 2, 1864, in Columbus, Franklin, Ohio, at the age of 30, and was buried in Camp Chase Confederate Cemetery, Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio.

According to Government printing office list, 34 bodies were removed in 1907 from Camp Chase Cemetery and buried elsewhere. Mr. Adkins' name was on that list. Patty (#47871807)source of this information on 9/20/16. This is the memorial for his original grave and where his body was moved is unknown. Nevius-179 19:08, 6 June 2023 (UTC)
