Biography

Sarah Agnew is said to have been born May 15, 1749 in Pennsylvania [1]and to have married Archibald Douglass of York County, Pennsylvania.

She was the daughter of Capt James Agnew and (2nd spouse) Rebecca Scott Agnew.[2] Capt James Agnew is a descendant of Lt.-Col. Alexander Agnew, 1st of Whitehills [3] [4]

Said to be the spouse of Archibald Douglass, however there is no primary proof as yet to support this. Her birthdate of 1749 would make her over 50 years younger than Archibald born 1696. [5] Perhaps she was married to a younger Archibald, a son or grandson ? Or perhaps a different Archibald Douglass ? According to at least one source Archibald b 1696 was married to a Jean, last name not known.

All the burial places of the children of James and Rebecca Agnew are known except for Sarah [6]
