Biography

Ireland Native
John Agnew was born in Ireland.

John Agnew was probably born in MIddletown, County Armagh, the place where he is said to have come from and worked as a blacksmith prior to conviction.

On 3 March 1845 John was imprisoned in Enniskillen and found guilty of the crime of larceny. His sentence was seven years transportation[1].

No records have been found for John Agnew being transported to Australia - it is possible he was sent to the Caribbean instead.

Hi, I have had to give up ownership of this profile due to pressures on my watchlist, but I would be very interested to hear from anyone who knows about John Agnew and his fate post conviction. Thanks!
