Biography

She was the grandmother of Australian Prime Minister Earle Page. She was born in Hamilton, Lanarkshire on 18 April 1830 to James Ainslie and Mary Stevens. Her family moved to Tasmania in 1852, where she met Edwin Cox, a salvage diver on a visiting boat. They married and moved to the Bendigo goldfields, before moving to northern New South Wales.
