I agree that the Claremont references disprove that existing Walter profile was son of Edward and Sybil. Initial error seems to be in FindAGrave. I will go thru the sources in the next day or two and try to sort out which Walter Ainsworth is which. I very much appreciate your input.

James, could you please take a look at the profile of son Walter? I'm finding sources that conflict with Walter being born in Woodstock, CT, son of Edward and Sybil Child.

ETA more details:

There was a Walter Ainsworth born in Woodstock, son of Edward and Sybil ("Connecticut Births and Christenings, 1649-1906", database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:F74V-3BR : 7 January 2020), Walter Ainsworth, 1769.) but it looks like he remained in that part of New England; he's a good match for the Walter Ainsworth found in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1850. ("United States Census, 1850," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HY-X49S-MD1?cc=1401638&wc=95RV-K62%3A1031311001%2C1032761601%2C1032772301 : 9 April 2016), Massachusetts > Hampden > West Springfield > image 30 of 72; citing NARA microfilm publication M432 (Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.).)
