Either the daughter of William Aitken and Jean Boyd and born 1 May 1777 in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland [1] or the daughter of Robert Aitken and Helen and born 27 July 1782 in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland[2] Either is possible as both paternal names appear in the children but I am inclined to consider the first since the first child was named Jean, perhaps after her mother and no daughters were named Helen. The possible parents William and Jean were married in Dalry, Ayr, Scotland 26 Jun 1776[3]. Whereas possible parents Robert and Helen married in Low Church,Paisley,Renfrew,Scotland in 14 Apr 1770 [4]
