Benjamin was born in 1768 in Lincoln, Loudon County, Virginia. He passed away in 1825, Greencastle, Putnam, Indiana. He had the following children with wife, Catherine Malone - Mildred Isaac Akers Bridgewater, Jane Akers Purcell, Polly Akers Legg, Bedy Akers - Lydia Collins and widow Mary A McLaughlin, Simon Akers - Melinda Mannon, Catherine Akers, Lavinia Akers Brown, Thomas Akers, and Nancy Akers.
