Land Records
30 July 1808 - Ralph AKERS and wife Hannah sold 31 acres and 23 perches of land in Bedford County, Pennsylvania to Ephraim AKERS[1]
On 2 February 1827, a land transaction[2] was recorded to establish the boundary between a land survey given to Abia AKERS on 28 October 1785 and a land survey given to Ralph AKERS on 28 October 1785. The land originally given to Abia AKERS was owned in 1827 by Abia AKERS, Jr. and Elisha BARTON. The land originally given to Ralph AKERS was listed as owned by "Ralph AKERS (son of first above mentioned Ralph AKERS)"
Some researchers postulate that Ralph AKERS and Abia AKERS who were the original surveyed patent owners were related and perhaps were brothers.
