Biography

Olivia Jeanette AKERS was born on or about 16 July 1856 in Ligonier Valley, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania and died on 12 October 1918 in Auburn, Shawnee County, Kansas. She was the daughter of Abraham Watson AKERS and Mary Ann AUSTRAW.

She appears to have married Lorenzo ATWOOD between 1870 and 1878 in Kansas as she was listed in her parents household in 1870 and has a 2 year old child in the 1880 census record. However a marriage record has yet to be found that would give a more exact date for the marriage. Some researchers state the marriage took place on 31 October 1875 in Shawnee County, Kansas. An Index stated this date, but the original record has not been consulted.[1]
