Biography

Lewis P Akins was enumerated at Post Office Rose Hill, Union County, Georgia for the July 20, United States Census, 1860. He was noted as born 1852 in Georgia. He was marked as having attended school within the last year as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are male J H Akins, female Martha Akins, male Francis M Akins, female E Leland C Akins and female Merrill S Akins.[1]

Lewis P Akins was enumerated at Blairsville Post Office, Subdivision 126, Union County, Georgia for the June 24, United States Census, 1870. He was noted as born 1851-1852 in Georgia and a farm laborer as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are male John Akins, female Martha Akins, male Francis M Akins, female Celenia Akins, female Maville S Akins and male John S Akins.[2]

L P Akin was enumerated as father of the head of household at Rowland Springs Road, Catersville, Bartow County, Georgia for the January 19, United States Census, 1920. He was noted as born 1852 in Georgia and widowed. He was a farm laborer on a home farm as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are head G W Akin, daughter Essie Akin, son Perry Akin, son Homer Akin, son Buren Akin, son Floyd Akin and son Eugene Akin.[3]
