Albrecht - Carl Ludwig Albrecht, born on June 21st, 1823 in Blugonow, Posen, Germany. In 1857 he came from the old homeland directly to New Ulm, MN, and was soon brought to the Lord by Brother (Pastor) H. Schnittker. He was of help during the hard times, under ridicule of many unbelievers in New Ulm, in establishing the now flourishing Methodist Community. In 1863 he married his now grieving wife, Henrietta (born Dannheim). The young family soon after established their home in Home Township, near Morgan. This is where the deceased was a vital coworker in establishing the Eden Fellowship where he served God and the Church for 30 years. He spent his senior years in Morgan. Brother Albrecht looked back on a full life. He was one of the fighters of the 1860s against the Indian Uprising. He knew to tell stories about the life of the pioneers, but most of all, he liked to tell of his experiences under the Banner of Christ. His end was in peace. He is survived by his wife and 8 sons along with many grandchildren and other relatives. One son and 4 daughters preceded him to eternity. Among the later was the first wife of Rev. Pastor Brunkow, preacher of the Northern Alliance. 1
