John, son of William and Susanna Alcock, was baptised at St Mary the Virgin, Gressenhall, on 2nd November 1828 [1].
John married Elizabeth Tennant on 9th January 1850 at St Andrew's church, Longham, Norfolk. His sister Susanna (Alcock) Bateson (bef.1820-1908) was a witness. John's trade is Carpenter [2].
In 1861, aged 33, John was an Innkeeper, Carpenter and Wheelwright, living at the White Horse Inn, Longham, with his wife Elizabeth (33), and sons James (10) and Alfred (1). John and Alfred were born at Gressenhall, Elizabeth and James at Longham [3].
John died before the 1871 census, where Elizabeth is the head of the household, living with Arthur at Longham [4].
