I grew up knowing nothing about my father, other than his name on my birth certificate. Since starting on my family history journey about 20 years ago, I have connected with a huge famiy of cousins from my father's 14 or so siblings, and dicsovrered my convict heritage of which I am very proud. But one of the best moments of all: the thrill when my father's youngest sister gave me a precious photo of him, and was able to talk to me about what he was like. At last I knew where I came from, and to whom I belonged.
