Biography

Elias Elijah Alexander was born on 26 Feb 1679 in Princess Anne, Maryland to Andrew Alexander.[1] He married first Anne Taylor about 1699 in Somerset, Maryland. Children: Esther, Abraham, Andrew, Elias, Zebulon, Isaac, Jedediah, Mary, Elias, Francis. After Anne died he married second Sophia Alexander about 1709 in Cecil County, Maryland. Elias was Sophia's first cousin, the son of her father's brother, Andrew Alexander. Children: William, Andrew, Abraham, Ezra, Jedidiah, Isaac, Francis. He died on 31 Aug 1749 in Slate Hill, Pennsylvania.

Research Notes

The source for Elias's death date (1749), his marriage to Sophia, and Jane McKnitt being his mother is Ancestry.com's family data collection. Which is basically a collection of family trees put on ancestry.

The William-Morrison Register says Elias son of Andrew Alexander married Sophia McKnitt.

Yeah, it looks like two different people added two different spouses to this man. If anyone out there can confirm or deny which/both wives... let me know and I will make the updates. I am dealing with a medical issue atm, so my time is limited. Thank you!
