Joseph's name and birth date are established here by finding his oldest son, Bonnie W Alexander in the 1900 and 1910 Federal Census (see citations below under sources). The marriage date for Joseph and his wife Hannah is estimated from the years married entry in the 1900 census, where they were said to have been married 11 years.
The census in both 1900 and 1910 list the children, Bonnie, age 10, Ethel age 8, Rhoda age 6 and Herbert age 4. Ethel has no profile on WikiTree, and an additional child nameed Henry does have a profile. It might be that Henry was born after Herbert, and died before the 1900 census. No additional children were in the 1910 census, and Hannah was listed as head of household, and widowed. Joseph most likely died in the decade between the 1900 and 1910 censuses, so I added a "before1910" as his death estimate. There is, however a Find A Grave entry for Joseph that shows he died in 1906. I will add that source as well, although the stone is not quite legible to me.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Joseph by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Joseph:
Alexander-13717 and Alexander-5204 appear to represent the same person because: These appear to be the same person, except there is some discrepancy in the childrren's birth order, and one child missing from each other's list of children. However Both Bonnie and Herbert appear to be children on each profile-but each with a matching profile for the other father (Joseph) prifile.
