1. ↑ Source: #S853 Data: Text: Sarah ALEXANDER was born about 1804 VT/Mass (two census show Vt 2 Mass...her kids say VT born for mom). Sarah md about 1821-1822 to Peter HADLOCK b. abt 1802 to James and Asa HADLOCK.. James and Asa HADLOCK moved into Locke between 1800 and 1810 as they are listed in the 1800 Tioga Co.NY census and I have a mortgage record proving my James HADLOCK lived there in 1799. James and Asa HADLOCK had 6 children: Mercy Hadlock md to Ezra COLE (they left Locke about 1826 for Ashtabula Co. OH, Permelia Hadlock md Nathan COOK and left Cayuga Co for Trumbull Co. OH between 1830-1840, Charlotte Hadlock md a Mr.FERREL/FARRAL? and Elizabeth Hadlock md Mr SMITH (no info only that they are mentioned in their father James HADLOCK'S Will in 1837. James died in Crawford Co PA having moved there abt 1834 to be closer to his kids). Jeramiah HADLOCK md UNKNOWN and lived in Locke until the mid 1830's when he also moved to Crawford with his parents. Peter HADLOCK md Sarah ALEXANDER ab! out 1821/1822 and moved with Ezra and Mercy COLE into Ashtabula Co. by 1826. They are in the Ashtabula Co 1830 census. As to Sarah ALEXANDER....b. abt 1804 VT or Mass. I have ruled out Eliphaz ALEXANDER & John ALEXANDER as her parents, they lived in Cayuga in 1820. In the 1820 Cayuga NY census listing only 3 Alexander families are listed: 1) John Alexander & wife & no children 2) Eliphaz Alexander, who had a daughter Sarah, who is documented as marrying someone else & 3) Hugh and his wife Elizabeth, who have a male 18-26, a female 10-16, and a female 16-26 both females fit Sarah's age catagory depending on if she was 16 or slightly older & there is a male and female 45 and up. I think this is my Sarah's parents, but I have no proof at this time. I have no idea what the other siblings names are or where they lived and died, so poor Sarah is without any family. I don't know what religion they were or if they went to church...the closest I can come to that answer is from t James Hadlock's rev war papers which stated that Rev Philip Slocum pastor of the Moravia NY knew him well. I don't know what church this pastor was affiliated with or why they were well acquainted with him. I don't believe the family was Catholic as far as I can tell. The only other reference to church is from Peter Hadlock's family, Frances his daughter was Meth Epis and later Christian Church according to her obit......beyond that I can't tell you if any of them were in a church.
