Amos Alexander was born in Cecil County, Maryland about 1760. He married Ann E. Ricketts in Cameron, Fairfax, Virginia on 12 October 1797. Ann passed away in 1804. Amos married Elizabeth Wroe on 10 January 1805.[1]

Departed this life on Saturday the 9th instant, MR AMOS ALEXANDER, in the 56th year of his age. He was a useful and highly distinguished citizen, having filled, at different periods of his life, the most honorable posts in our public concerns and private societies. His remains were yesterday interred with Masonic ceremonies, by the Grand Lodge of the District of Columbia, of which he was once the master.[3]
