Biography

• Jean was baptized 11 June 1670 at Mauchline Parish, the daughter of Johne Alexander.^[1] No record of her Mother has been found.

• Jean was the daughter of Banished Covenanter, Johne Alexander of Mauchline.^[2] Quote: "John Alexander, birth about 1655 at Mauchline. Book 23, volume 9, page 208, banished to the Plantations." ("The plantations" probably refers to Ulster).

• Jean married John Morison 17 December 1690 at Campbeltown Parish.^[3] John Morison was the son of Banished Covenanter John Morrison Sr, a servitor to David Erskine Second Lord Cardross.

• Margaret, baptized 27/08/1693 at Campbeltown. Apparently died young.
• Jenat, baptized 01/11/1696 at Campbeltown.
• Mary Morrison baptized 16 April 1699 at Campbeltown Parish.^[4]
• John, baptized 15/02/1702 at Campbeltown.
• William Henry Morrison baptized 18/06/1704 at Campbeltown Parish.^[5]

No record of Jean's death has been found.

Research Notes

• Jeane's records at Scotlandspeople.com involve several spellings. Jean, Jeane and Jane. And the use of another last name "Eshinor". I have not found "Eshinor" in any other records. I have not included these to references to "Eshinor" to avoid confusion. However other record databases may show only records to Eshinor and not Alexander.
