Paul was raised in Enterprise, Utah. When he was about 9 years old, he began working with his father as janitor of the school. He attended Enterprise High School where he played on the basketball team. When World War II broke out, Paul joined the
Paul was a man of many talents and a keen wit. He played the guitar and could sing ballad after ballad and never miss a word. It seemed that there was nothing he couldn't do in the building or mechanics fields. Plumbing, carpentry, electrical work
Paul didn't care for too much "civilization", so when he got the chance, he moved the family to the wilds of Orofino, Idaho where he and his cousins, Doris and Carlos Mangum, bought a tract of land on the side of a mountain near the construction site.
After Doris was paralyzed in a traffic accident and Carlos killed himself, the family sold their property in Orofino and moved to Clarkston, Washington. There they bought a home and a mobile home park.
Paul quit smoking several years before he died, but the damage had been done. He finally had to breath pure oxygen all the time. He passed away when he caught a light case of
