Bozoan was born about 1620 in England.
Bozoan, who arrived in Hingham, 1638, was from Lynn, England, and one of the passengers of the ship "Diligent" of which John Martin was master. Daniel Cushing (Hingham Town Clerk) made the following record: "1638. Mr. Bozone Allen and his wife and two servants came from Lynn, in Norfolk, and settled in New Hingham."[1]
He married Ann Alby about 1638.
During the military troubles here about the election of officers for the train-band (1644-1645), he took an active part with the Hobarts, and was elected captain by a majority of the legal votes of the town.
Deputy to the General Court, 1643, 1644, 1645, 1646, 1647, 1650, 1651, and 1652, and a man of influence in our early town affairs.
Shortly afterwards he removed to Boston, where he died 14 Sept. 1652.[2]
The baptism's of Bozoan's children are recorded in Hobart's diary.
Bozon's widow Ann Allen Jewett's will mentions the following children:[3]
He passed away in 1652.
