Oswald Allen was born in 1771 in Hawes, son of Leonard Allen (~1737 - ).
Oswald married Elizabeth Faraday (1787 - 1847) on 22 Sep 1808 in Hawes. Their daughter was Hannah (Allen) Smith (~1815 - 1898).
Oswald died in 1862 aged ~91.
His uncle, John Allen was the founder of the Sandemanian Church in Gayle, near Hawes. He married Elizabeth Faraday, the sister of Michael Faraday, who had been brought up as a Sandemanian and was a member of the Sandeman meeting house in London.
