James Anderson Allen was a Revolutionary War Patriot and a chapter of the DAR was named after him. He was later on the Committee of Safety formed in November 1775 to implement local organization and cooperation in the war effort. James Allen was faithful in furnishing supplies to the weir effort, and the DAR PATRIOT INDEX lists three of his sons as having seen active duty in the Revolution - James Jr., John, and Charles - as well as four of his brothers. Research Notes
While it is possible his middle name is Anderson, which is his mother's maiden name, need to find proof. The only thing found so far is a newspaper article about the James Allen Chapter, NSDAR, Here he is called james Alexander Allen Sr. [7] This article was written in 1999. This chapter may have desolved as I don't see on the current list for DAR.
