Biography
Ada Ambelia Allen, known as Ambelia, was born at Rangiora in north Canterbury to John Allen and Elizabeth Feeney. Her father worked as a Labourer.
In 1912 she married William Albert, son of Isaac Read and Wilhelmina Titmuss of Waterton, Ashburton.
They also settled at Waterton where William worked as a Farmer. Ambelia had 3 children born during her marriage, a daughter Olwen Frances in 1913 and later 2 sons.
Ada died in 1969 at Ashburton aged 87. She is buried at Woodlawn Cemetery, Christchurch.
