Biography
Benjamin Allen was born April 27, 1757, in Mount Jackson, Shenandoah county, Virginia, a son of Joseph Allen and Ruth White. Benjamin's family were members of the Society of Friends, also known as "The Quakers." Their services were called "Meetings." On January 13, 1791, at Smith's Creek Meeting House, in Virginia, Benjamin married Hannah Walton, a daughter of Moses Walton. [1]
Benjamin is found on the United States Census of 1810, living in Shenandoah county, Virginia. [2] By 1820, Benjamin had moved to Goshen Township, Belmont county, Ohio. [3] Benjamin is found on the 1820 and 1830 census records, living in Goshen. [4] Benjamin died October 10, 1838, in Belmont county, Ohio. [5]
