This particular Drury Allen, who died in 1814 at Rutherford County, North Carolina is the husband of Lorana Hartgrove. His paternity is not known at this time. He is not the son of Robert Allen and Nancy Coleman who died in Georgia in 1826. They are two different men. The following is a journal entry made by his grandson in 1868. "Allen Weeks, son of Benjamin Weeks and Hannah Allen. May 1868; Fort Cedar, Utah Territory, Utah County, Allen Weeks: This morning I commence to write a scetch of my history commensing about the time my father left Alabama Morgan County on the 18 of September 1829 and emigrated to the state of Illinois, Shelby County with his family. My fathers name was Benjamin Weekes my mothers name before marriage was Hannah Allen. Her fathers name was Drury Allen her mothers name before she was married to Allen was Leurany Heart groath . . . .,."
