Biography
Mary was born in 1728. FAG bio: Mary Allen, dau. of Col. John Allen, Esqr. and Margaret Homes, b. Apr. 3, 1728 at Chilmark, on the west side of the island of Martha's Vineyard, Mass. She d. July 2, 1783 at Chilmark, Æ 56.
On Jan. 3, 1743/4 at Chilmark, Mary m. as his 1st wife, Dr. Matthew Mayhew, Esqr., s. of Paine Mayhew, Esqr. and Mary Rankin, b. May 15, 1721 at Chilmark, where he d. Aug. 10, 1805, Æ 85. Mary was the mother of all twelve of her husband's known children, who are (will be) outlined in their father's memorial.
