Elizabeth married John Martin, Jr. (1753-1808) of County Antrim, Ireland, in 1783 in Jefferson County, Georgia.
John Martin, Jr., and his parents, John Martin, Sr. & Jane Hutchinson Martin, emigrated from Ireland to Georgia about 1767. John, Jr. was a patriot of the Revolutionary War. All his descendants are qualified to join the DAR/SAR. From his great-granddaughter's DAR application:
"I hereby certify that John Martin, Jr., was a refugee into the State of North Carolina after the fall of Charleston to the British troops and served the whole time of his said refugeeship as a good soldier and faithful friend of the United States. Given under my hand, 2nd of December 1783. John Twiggs, Brigadier General, and Francis Boykin"
