Biography
William was born on Aug 19 1847[1]. He was the son of George Allen and Jane Paul. His father was a ship's carpenter who emigrated to New Zealand and set up in Wellington as a boatbuilder (this information from Who's Who entry on George Edward Allen).
He married Emma Ticehurst in 1874 in Lower Hutt[2].
He died on 27 February 1947[3] in Wairarapa, New Zealand and was buried in Clareville Cemetery, Carterton[4]
