Biography

This profile is part of the Allen Name Study.

John Allen was born 05 April 1638 in Windsor, Hartford, Connecticut. His father died in 1648 and his Mother married William Hulbert who moved the family to Northhampton Mass.[1] He married Mary Hannum on 08 December 1669 in Northampton, Massachusetts.[2] John and Mary had three children, born in Northhampton.

The Family moved to Deerfield Mass in 1675. Soon after that John was Killed by Indians at the battle of Bloody Brook, Deerfield, MA September 18, 1675.[5][6][7] His family was ecavuated before the town was destroyed. After many deprivations they found a home in Enfield Connecticut sometime before 1890.[1]
