Uriah Turnley^[1] Allen was born about 1830 in Louisiana.^[2][3][4][5]

He married Eliza Jane Dyle^[6] about 1849^{[2][1][4][5][3]} and the couple had the following known children:

1. Sarah M.^[4] Allen was born about 1852 in Louisiana.^[3][5]
2. Josephine Allen was born about 1853 in Louisiana.^[4][5] She died 03 Oct 1934 in Kisatchie, Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana.^[6]
3. Levi Allen was born about 1854 in Louisiana.^[4][5]
4. John L. Allen was born about 1857 in Louisiana.^[4][5]
5. James B. Allen was born about 1859 in Lousiana.^[4]
6. Julia Allen was born about 1863 in Louisiana.^[3][5]
7. Eliza Jane Allen was born about 1865 in Louisiana.^[3]
8. Abie Alice Allen was born about 1867 in Louisiana.^[3][5]
9. Elijah Joseph^[5] "Major" Allen was born about 1869 in Texas.^[3] He died 11 Dec 1929 in Vernon Parish, Louisiana.^[7][8]

The newly married Uriah and Eliza were counted twice on the 1850 census for Rapides Parish, Louisiana^[2][1] and by 1860 they had moved to Trinity County, Texas.^[4] In 1870 the family has moved back to Louisiana and are living in Natchitoches Parish. By 1880 they have moved again and are living in Vernon Parish.^[3]

Uriah died sometime after 1880, probably in Vernon Parish, Louisiana where he was living at that time.^[3]
